RS232 and RS422/485 data cables often interact with the ground wiring in a building. The result is ground loops (current flowing the data cable signal ground wire), electrical noise and transient surges which can corrupt data and damage your equipment. These self-contained isolating interfaces pass data bi-directionally between computer equipment while providing complete electrical isolation. They can also be used to convert between data formats. They increase communication distances by regenerating data signals. LEDs monitor data flow without loading the data signals.
